Hi i have a old minivan 2002 pontiac montana. I cant get my new rimoody mp5 to work with reverse camera. I did use a scosche wireing kit. At first nothing worked until i ran my own 12v ignition wire to fuse box. Also steering wheel controlls do not work. After dealing with these issues im thinking the old van is not putting out a signal for backup wire im gonna get a circut tester so i can figure this out.

Remove everyday in summer. My suction cup will no longer stick

so my concerns would be screen glare for passengers, for people who don't want to remove the device all the time hot summers would likely damage the battery, do you know if either of these issues are addressed?

Love your method here especially the templates. “I’d LOVE to see how you would make the same covers but with magnets to hold them in place.” How would you attach them if you have a binding on the edge rather than a fabric cover with magnets sewn in. Even sewn in I’m not sure how to do that.

When you showed the iq vid vs the 622gw i thought the vid on the 622gw was better? I can see it obscuring alot of people's windscreen's due to its size!! I agree it has some cool feature's but im still not 100% sold on it 🤷‍♂️

I've had the 4k version from release in November as well as the rear camera when it was released. It has come along way since and as of today Guardian Mode was released in the last update.. I can't wait for roadwatch ai.. it is expensive and the top subscription is also but it is worth it in my opinion.. I am always remote checking in on the car when left in car parks.. it took a while too get my settings right but now it's 👌 would I recommend it.. definitely..

Brilliant video, this answers many questions and is easy to follow.

I've been a cycling (bicycle) and camping digital nomad for 13 years now. I wonder whether all this insulation, carpeting and paneling is worth the time, effort and expense. I do need a flat surface for my 1 cm thick camping mat but other than that, extra clothing in winter and four walls against the wind would be enough for me, I believe. Of course, I'm generally a minimalist and "anti-accessories" type, would love to have just a tatami room and a big suitcase and a couple of bags. Just seems like a lot of waste and substance abuse, all that glue and all the trappings.

when is camera first launch had major problems , especially with the rear camera and connection to Vodafone in the uk . As of june 2024 can you now confirm with the latest software update eu-r2.1.14 that all these problems have now been resolved . The problem I am talking about rear camera not working most of the time . Slow connection through the Vodafone network. Rear camera not even being recognised . Camera crashing . The app was full of bugs . And generally the whole performance which are very very poor . Compared to other popular brands . I agree the potential of this camera is amazing but at the time when I purchased this camera just over six months ago it was a total nightmare . I would love to purchase this product again but I'm worried the problems haven't been sorted out . somebody give me an update ... Uk customer ...

Most of that gap is from the bolt and hinge plates. Cut the Hinge so that door side is short (or use t-strap hinges). Inset the hinge on the door. Inset it at the fully closed depth so that it sits on the seat/bracket face. Grind down the bolt head, or use a different type, carriage, connector, or cap bolt, or drill a clearance hole for the bolt head. TBH I thought the holes in the seat were threaded so i was confused on why you needed a nut.

Good review, finally got my replacement after fighting with customer service on amazon AND direct, both told me to contact one other lol. Mine stopped working only after 3 months, did some researching and could find 3 others that had that happen too, only who I know about and found online, so who knows how reliable this actually is, def dont look forward to testing it in the heat after it randomly died in the spring (yes, it took me 2 months of back and forth to get a warranty replacement). If it wasnt so expensive, I would have just taken the L, but its 4 months worth of filling my car up with gas, so you know I at least wanted a 2nd try with this but i honestly was ready to buy a cheaper one, but from a better known brand lol

Brilliant job. I've just bought an Opel Combo panel van that's a similiar size to your NV200. Having watched many YT videos of conversions, I'm going to go with your build. It's really practical, simple and maximises space. Too many vans are cluttered with needless stuff. Some people want to replicate their home in their van. I still want to 'camp' in mine.

have one NV200 too, Im not verry satisfied with my solution. Using 4 great boxes for the stuff and a folding layer for the night. Ist allways uncomfortable to remove the layer, if you want to get your stuff out of the boxes. I need a more comfortable system. Yours is a great inspiration. THY for sharing.

Hello, I have the 522GW and I’m thinking of getting the IQ now, my only issue is with the 522gw I have a stop start car so camera keeps restarting whenever the engine goes into eco mode and restarts, I’ve tried asking re constant power and was told wasn’t possible and stop/start shouldn’t be an issue. Am I correct in assuming this is a constant power feed, as in video you said it switches off when engine is switched off ? Also in emergency situations I’ve found the 522gw only does 5 seconds before incident instead of the previous 30 seconds on earlier models? What’s the accident / save incident timeframe before and after incident ?

Hi James,your video was really helpful and I have now made covers for all my van windows.The best tip was using smaller pieces of paper to make the template as even a slight wind made it difficult.I found it easier to work from the outside windows for all covers

It’s too big for my windshield. The rear cam is questionable at most times. Subscrtion is stupid, but you’re basically paying for 4g service and is nice to have. If it wasn’t so big, I’d keep it, but it’s on eBay
